COVID-19 Pandemic
Update: March 1, 2021

The Artworth Steering Committee has been working hard to ensure that the 2021 “Wild Things” program can go ahead. We have designed a fully outdoors, multi-site, small group program that will protect campers and artists. Rather than using one central facility for all camp activities, the camp will be run from two outdoor parks (Mill Creek Park in Warkworth and Kennedy Park in Campbellford).

Campers will be divided into small groups of 7 to 8 kids who stay together for the length of the camp. Each ‘pod’ of campers will be assisted by two dedicated teen volunteers. Each pod will spend the morning with one artist (including play breaks and games) before rotating after lunch to a second artist for the afternoon. In total, each pod of campers will spend the equivalent of one full day each week with each artist between Monday and Thursday. Each Friday there will be a field trip to a different forest site including nature skills and creations. Please see the Artist Program for details.

ArtWorth will provide drinking water, washroom facilities, including hand washing and sanitizing stations as well as sufficient sun and/or rain protection at all sites.

Campers will spend 2 days in each location each week (Warkworth and Campbellford) and the fifth day at a nature site. Parents will be responsible for drop off & pick up at these locations. On Fridays each week the campers will be participating in a field day of nature connection activities, arts and performance at two forest locations (7 km west of Warkworth and 7 km north of Campbellford). Due to the COVID Pandemic, parents will be responsible for drop-off and pick-up on field days.
